Job summary

MTrec Limited is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to design electrical and instrumentation systems and prepare documentation for subcontractors. You will review client specs, perform electrical calculations and support installation, testing and commissioning activities on multidisciplinary projects.

You will work with AutoCAD, EPLAN and Inventor, focusing on power distribution and PLC systems, while coordinating with mechanical engineers to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or HNC/HND equivalent.
• Industrial electrical engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN and Inventor.
• Understanding of power distribution, control systems and PLCs.
• Awareness of IEC and NEC standards advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical and instrumentation system designs and technical documentation for subcontractors.
• Prepare specifications for essential purchased parts.
• Provide hands-on support and ensure robust electrical design, calculations, and instrumentation.
• Review client specifications and produce electrical designs and calculations.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Participate in FATs, SATs and site inspections.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Progress reporting and identifying bottlenecks promptly.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers to align design.
• Ensure accurate execution of designs and drawings within schedule.
• Identify training needs to broaden knowledge.
• Collect, monitor, analyse data and report findings.

The Company

Our client are specialists in their market sector; they are now looking to recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer.

The Role

• You will create the electrical and instrumentation system designs, technical documentation for subcontractors and prepares specifications for essential purchased parts.
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, providing hands‑on support and ensures robust electrical design, calculation and instrumentation in line with safety and performance standards.
• Review client specifications.
• Produce Electrical designs
• Produce Electrical calculations.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Participate in FAT's, SAT's and site inspections.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Progress report and identify bottlenecks promptly.
• Contribute to a structured work planning process based on deadlines and time constraints.
• Co‑ordinate with mechanical engineers to align design.
• Ensures accurate execution of designs and drawings within the agreed project schedule.
• Identify and undertake additional training as necessary to broaden your knowledge.
• Responsible for collecting, monitoring, processing and analysing data.
• Reporting the data and making recommendations where necessary.
• Providing timely and accurate information.

The Person

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Prior experience in an industrial electrical engineering environment preferred.
• Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, Inventor).
• Understanding of power distribution, control systems and PLCs.
• Awareness of IEC and NEC standards is advantageous.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop.
