Job summary

Stantec invites applications for a Newcastle-based Graduate Electrical Engineer as part of our 2027 Graduate Programme. You will contribute to high‑voltage infrastructure projects and net-zero energy solutions while learning from experienced engineers.

You will develop technical designs, collaborate across disciplines, and work towards Chartered Engineer status with IET or IMechE, supported by our Career progression plan.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in electrical engineering (BEng/MEng) or related power systems.
• Strong interest in energy transition and grid infrastructure.
• Willingness to pursue Chartered Engineer pathway with IET or IMechE.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking outline and detailed electrical engineering designs including power system calculations and protection assessments.
• Assisting with feasibility studies, capacity assessments, and grid connection reviews for clean energy infrastructure.
• Coordinating electrical designs with civil, structural, mechanical, and digital teams.
• Preparing technical reports, SLDs, specifications, and client-facing documentation.
• Supporting project managers with workload organisation, progress tracking, and quality checks.
• Communicating effectively with internal teams, operators, and clients to ensure delivery.
