Job summary

CBG Consultants Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to support sustainability projects across buildings. You will conduct feasibility surveys, assist with design and specification, and help hand over projects from inception to completion.

The role requires a degree in a relevant subject, good communication and organisation skills, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel. Driving licence and own transport are desirable for site visits.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant subject.
• Knowledge or Experience of building services design.
• Experience in preparing daylight and sun light studies for planning will be an advantage.
• Excellent communicator with good organisation skills as you will be working both independently and within the current experienced team.
• Be a competent MS Word and Excel user.
• Own transport and driving licence.

Graduate Electrical Engineer – Cambridge

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Sustainability Engineers to join our Cambridge and Oxford offices.

Duties will include undertaking survey work and the production of feasibility reports, full design and specification for a wide range of sustainability systems in buildings in a number of different sectors including healthcare, education, private and public housing, commercial and retail.

Initially the role will be under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, however as you develop, you will increasingly be responsible for visiting a wide variety of sites to undertake feasibility surveys, attend site progress meetings and review installations. Working closely with other team members, you will see projects through from inception to completion and handover.

Skills and Qualities

To be successful, you should be able to demonstrate that you have:

• A degree in a relevant subject
• Knowledge or Experience of building services design
• Experience in preparing daylight and sun light studies for planning will be an advantage
• You will be an excellent communicator with good organisation skills as you will be working both independently and within the current experienced team
• Be a competent MS Word and Excel user
• An accurate, methodical approach to your work

Some experience of building services design and use of software is desirable; the successful candidate will also need to have their own transport and driving licence.

Working knowledge of MS Office is also preferred. Previous experience of these or similar packages is useful however full training will be provided.
