Job summary
Barhale is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist delivering major water and infrastructure projects across the UK. We are seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the @one Alliance, gaining hands-on experience across process engineering on high‑value sites.
You will work with experienced engineers to develop technical knowledge, build professional experience and progress toward a successful career in Electrical Engineering within a supportive, values‑driven company.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (2:2 or above).
- Evidence of a project engineering environment.
- Knowledge of inter-related engineering disciplines.
- Collaborative, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Support design and delivery of electrical systems including power distribution, automation, and instrumentation.
- Assist with specification and selection of electrical equipment.
- Work with civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams.
- Carry out site surveys, commissioning, and technical inspections.
- Support documentation, reports, and health & safety compliance.
- Engage with contractors, clients (e.g. Anglian Water) and supply chain partners.

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands‑on experience of Process Engineering across major infrastructure projects.
You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Electrical Engineering.
You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer‑term career goals.
- Support the design and delivery of electrical systems, including power distribution, automation, and instrumentation
- Assist with the specification and selection of electrical equipment
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams
- Carry out site surveys, commissioning, and technical inspections
- Support with documentation, reports, and health & safety compliance
- Engage with contractors, clients (e.g. Anglian Water), and supply chain partners throughout project lifecycles
- A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc in Electrical Engineering.
- Solid and strong evidence in a project engineering environment in relevant engineering discipline
- Detailed technical knowledge. Knowledge of inter-related engineering disciplines
- Work in an open and collaborative way– practice integrated working with all Alliance teams and the client. Develop effective working relationships.
- Apply rigour to key projects and tasks that require accurate and timely delivery and decision making
- The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
- An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
- A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required
