Job summary

Clancy seeks a Graduate Electrical Engineer to support Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks across the region. You’ll analyse data, apply digital tools, and combine hands-on insight with design work to drive smarter, safer ways of working.

The role offers on-site exposure from day one and real opportunities to impact projects. You’ll hold a BEng/BSc in Electrical or Power Systems engineering, enjoy working with Excel and MS Office, and collaborate with delivery, digital and engineering

The Role

At Clancy, we’re proud to support Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks in delivering essential infrastructure across the region. As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you’ll use data, digital tools, and hands‑on insight to help drive smarter, safer ways of working. It’s a varied role where you’ll grow your skills, get out on site, and make a real impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analysing data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Designing complex distribution infrastructure including Substation, Cable system and Overhead Line.
  • Supporting teams with tools like Depotnet, Cable modelling, AutoCad and Revit.
  • Managing various multidisciplinary stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Getting out on site to gather on the ground knowledge of constructability, areas of engineering difficulty and key risks.
  • Helping to embed digital tools and best practice across the business
  • You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working closely with colleagues across engineering, delivery, and digital.
Candidate Qualities

You’re proactive, analytical, and solutions-focused, with a natural curiosity and a desire to learn. You’re confident with data, know your way around tools like Excel and the entire suite of Microsoft tools, and you can explain your findings clearly to different audiences.

Qualifications

You’ll hold a BEng/BSc in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering etc.)

Requirements
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A full UK driving licence (as site visits are part of the role)
  • Ideally, a background or interest in utilities or infrastructure
  • No visa sponsorship possible for this role
  • Full right to work in the UK without restriction and without a need for sponsorship either now or in the future
