Job summary

TRUE Engineers Limited in Plymouth, Devon is recruiting for a Junior/Graduate Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services/MEP). The role offers on-the-job learning and training, with responsibilities across early design and site visits, suitable for recent graduates or entrants to the field.

You will work within a skilled team to develop electrical designs for hospitals, industrial and commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with latest regulations.

Qualifications

• An MEng / BEng / HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Experience in building services design is beneficial but not required.
• Experience with Revit or IES modelling would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of outline design schemes
• Visiting site during the construction phase to monitor progress
• Ensuring services conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards
• Production of drawings under the direction of engineers
• Assisting with the checking of documents and carry out detailed calculations
• Using CAD and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems for each project
• Assisting with the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedure
• Liaising with other professionals including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors
• Undertaking duties as indicated by your team manager to obtain experience and training
