Penguin Recruitment is recruiting for a Graduate Design Engineer to join a leading acoustic engineering consultancy in Southampton. The role covers noise and vibration control, CAD design and hands-on problem solving to begin a career in a specialist engineering environment.

You will work with experienced engineers on the full lifecycle of projects, combining office design/draughting with site visits, project coordination and practical engineering exposure.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of noise and vibration control solutions.
• Produce technical drawings and designs using CAD software.

• Assist with site surveys and inspections.
• Support engineers with noise and vibration projects.

Graduate Design Engineer - Noise & Vibration

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be hiring on behalf of a leading specialist acoustic engineering and noise control consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Graduate Design Engineer to join their growing team in Southampton.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate with an interest in engineering design, noise and vibration control, CAD and technical problem-solving to begin their career within a highly specialised and varied engineering environment.

The successful candidate will join an established business operating across acoustic consultancy, engineering design and bespoke noise control solutions.

The Role

The Graduate Design Engineer will work closely with experienced engineers and acoustic specialists, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of noise and vibration control projects.

The role will combine office-based design and draughting work with site visits, project coordination and practical engineering exposure.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the design of specialist noise and vibration control solutions
• Producing technical drawings and designs using CAD software
• Draughting and developing engineering drawings for bespoke acoustic products and installations
• Supporting the design of acoustic hardware and noise mitigation solutions
• Assisting with site surveys and inspections
• Supporting engineers with noise and vibration-related projects
• Liaising with colleagues, contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle
• Assisting with project management and project coordination
• Developing technical calculations, specifications and design documentation

The Ideal Candidate
