Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks a Graduate Cover Supervisor in Newcastle Upon Tyne to join a partnership with high-achieving secondary schools. The role focuses on delivering lessons, supporting diverse learners, and boosting attainment in core subjects.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with potential part-time options. A 2:2 or better is required or predicted. DBS checks and safeguarding training are provided; holiday pay is included and there is a pathway to teacher training.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of concepts and curriculum content.
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for education and helping students succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom activities and assist in delivering lessons to students of various age groups and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group tuition to students who need additional help, either inside or outside of class time.
• Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
• Help to monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with homework and assignments.
• Assist with administrative duties related to student progress tracking and classroom organisation.
