Job summary

Impression Recruitment is seeking a Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer in Pontefract to join a Yorkshire engineering consultancy. You will work with senior engineers on residential, commercial, civil and industrial projects, gaining hands-on experience and progressing through increasing responsibilities.

You'll analyse structures, produce calculations and drawings, and develop your practical design skills. Hybrid working becomes available after probation, with mentoring and training to support

Qualifications

• BSc Civil Engineering or MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles.
• Knowledge of UK design codes and industry standards.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and a desire to produce high quality work.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine ambition to develop.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Get hands on with structural analysis, design and engineering calculations across steel, concrete, timber and masonry
• Produce calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Gain valuable site experience through inspections, surveys and structural assessments
• Work closely with experienced engineers and technicians, learning from their expertise
• Contribute to projects from initial design through to completion
• Develop practical and efficient engineering solutions
• Build your confidence working with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
• Take on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and experience grows
