Job summary

Arup is seeking graduates for civil engineering roles focused on Site Development in Newcastle. You will contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, and utility coordination within multidisciplinary teams.

As a graduate, you will learn through hands-on project work, gain exposure to innovative digital tools, and develop professional skills while supporting clients and communities in delivering sustainable built environments.

Qualifications

• Basic CAD/engineering design software experience is preferred.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or on-track to graduate.
• Strong communication and collaborating skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for large-scale Site Development projects.
• Develop site layouts, drainage strategies, earthworks, access arrangements and utility coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated, sustainable designs.
• Prepare technical designs, drawings, calculations and reports to a high standard.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to develop practical outcomes.

• Supporting the design and delivery of civil engineering solutions for large-scale infrastructure and other Site Development projects including energy, water, transport (rail and highways), nuclear decommissioning, brownfield redevelopment sites, buildings projects and public realm.
• Developing site layouts, drainage strategies, earthworks designs, access arrangements and utility coordination solutions..
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and sustainable engineering designs.
• Producing technical designs, drawings, calculations and reports to a high standard.
• Engaging with clients, stakeholders and project teams to develop practical and innovative outcomes.
• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering.

Skills and experience relating to AutoCAD/MicroStation, Civil 3D, InfoDrainage and use of AI/Data/Digital tools to support engineering design would be useful but not essential. • Full working rights in the country of application
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
