Job summary

Arup in Cardiff is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will help deliver roads and streets, drainage, utilities and transport schemes across the project lifecycle, from concept through to construction.

You will apply digital methods and automation, contribute to sustainable design, and collaborate with clients and specialists. Recent graduates with a relevant degree and 0-12 months experience are encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity

Our Civil Engineering team thrives on the diversity of our work. Projects undertaken by the team include roads and streets, public realm design, sustainable urban drainage, utilities co-ordination, water and wastewater treatment and energy related projects. We often play a key role in large-scale multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. The team is involved in projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept stage through to detailed design and construction, for a wide range of both public and private sector Clients.

Sustainability is at the core of our project delivery, where we focus on making best use of existing assets, delivering high value, low carbon solutions for our clients and end users. This role will include the delivery of projects of a wide variety of scale and complexity in the discipline of Civil Engineering, Roads and Streets and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, which can also include Aviation, Rail, Water and Energy projects.

Learn new skills and deliver high-quality work for a range of Clients; carrying out assessments, analysis and design from initial due diligence stages through to construction.

Use specialist analysis and design software to develop and support the design process.

Collaborate within wider project and Arup teams, and directly with specialists and clients, communicating clearly and effectively.

Be conscientious in creating a sustainable future for all and shaping a better world.

Apply digital methods and automation to improve and enhance the work we deliver, including tools such as machine learning.

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as Civil Engineering, Ground / Geotechnical Engineering.

Skills and Technical experience interested in Transportation, Highways Engineering, Hydrology and Hydraulics, Engineering Mathematics, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Drainage Design, Sustainability and Flood Risk.

No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
