Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its @one Alliance programme. You’ll gain hands-on experience across major infrastructure projects and work alongside experienced engineers. The role supports developing your technical knowledge and progressing toward a professional civil engineering career.

Location is Peterborough with hybrid working. Applicants should have a 2:2 or higher in Civil/Structural engineering and be prepared to travel between project locations as

Qualifications

  • A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil or Structural engineering.
  • Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures using British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience designing civil engineering structures in the Water and Waste Water Industry and competency with MS Office and engineering software (TEDDS/Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit).
  • Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines; collaborative and eager to learn.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands-on experience of Civil Engineering across major infrastructure projects.
You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Civil Engineering.
You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer-term career goals.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for graduates who are curious, collaborative and keen to build a career in Civil Engineering and who enjoy working with people, solving problems and learning new things.
You’ll need:

  • A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures not limited to slabs, beams, liquid retaining structures, etc using the British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, and other acceptable standards not limited to Ciria Guidance, BRE, etc Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry and exhibit high competency in the use of MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages not limited to TEDDS by Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit, etc
  • The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
  • An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
  • A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required
