Job summary

Escape in Glasgow is recruiting a Graduate Buyer in a structured development role. You will gain hands-on exposure to purchasing, supplier management, materials planning, data analysis and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates are analytical, commercially curious and eager to pursue a long-term career in Buying and Procurement. The role offers hybrid working with potential travel to other locations and training towards a procurement qualification.

Qualifications

• Graduates from Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Logistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations or related disciplines.
• No previous buying or procurement experience required.
• Placements, internships, university projects or work experience in related fields are advantageous.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong Excel skills and data fluency.
• Willingness to learn ERP/MRP systems and Power BI.
• Proactive, curious and practical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to manage priorities and follow actions through.
• Interest in technology, automation, AI and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support day to day purchasing and purchase order management.
• Communicate with suppliers and follow up on deliveries.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times and open orders.
• Support materials planning, inventory analysis and supply availability.
• Use Excel, ERP/MRP systems and Power BI to analyse data.
• Support cost analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with procurement, production, planning, logistics, finance and commercial teams.
• Support supplier reviews and cross-functional improvement projects.
• Explore use of AI and automation to improve procurement processes.
• Contribute to a structured improvement project during the first 12 months.

We are working with an established organisation to recruit a Graduate Buyer into a structured development role, giving you hands‑on exposure to purchasing, supplier management, materials planning, data analysis and continuous improvement.
