1st Select Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor to join a growing Building Surveying team within a multidisciplinary consultancy. You will gain exposure to surveys, condition reports, dilapidations and refurbishment projects across commercial property and public sector, with APC support and a structured development path to chartership.

Qualifications

• A degree in Building Surveying or a closely related subject.
• Some practical or consultancy-based Building Surveying experience.
• Genuine interest in developing a career within consultancy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence dealing with clients, colleagues and contractors.
• Willingness to get out on site and develop your technical knowledge.
• Clear ambition to work towards chartership / APC.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out building and condition surveys.
• Assisting with schedules of condition and defect diagnosis.
• Supporting dilapidations and pre-acquisition work.
• Assisting with refurbishment and project-based instructions.
• Preparing reports, specifications and schedules of work.
• Supporting senior surveyors with contract administration and project management.
• Attending client meetings and site inspections.
• Developing your understanding of professional building surveying and client advisory work.
