Job summary

Clarkson Owens Recruitment partners with a well-established Glasgow consultancy to recruit a Graduate Building Surveyor. You will join a growing team and gain hands-on experience across commercial, residential, education and public sector projects, with mentorship toward APC and MRICS qualification.

You will support condition surveys, project delivery, contract administration, and reporting while developing technical knowledge and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying, with RICS accreditation preferred.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Keen to work towards APC and MRICS.
• Proactive attitude and good time management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with condition surveys and building inspections.
• Support delivery of project work including refurbishments and maintenance.
• Prepare schedules of condition, specifications and technical reports.
• Assist with contract administration and project delivery.
• Contribute to dilapidations, defect analysis and planned maintenance reports.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and design teams.

Are you a recent Building Surveying graduate looking to kick-start your career with a respected consultancy?

We're working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy in Glasgow that is looking to add a Graduate Building Surveyor to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of projects while working alongside experienced Chartered Surveyors who will support your professional development towards APC and MRICS qualification.

The Role

As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you'll work on a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, education and public sector projects, gaining exposure to both professional and project-based building surveying services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with condition surveys and building inspections.
• Supporting the delivery of project work, including refurbishments and maintenance schemes.
• Preparing schedules of condition, specifications and technical reports.
• Assisting with contract administration and project delivery.
• Helping to produce dilapidations, defect analysis and planned maintenance reports.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other members of the design team.
• Developing your technical knowledge while working towards chartership.

About You

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying (RICS-accredited preferred).
• Keen to work towards APC and MRICS status.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
