Job summary

Arup in the United Kingdom is offering a Graduate BIM (Building Services MEP) Engineer placement in Nottingham. You will join the BIM team to develop 2D/3D models, coordinate multi-disciplinary information and support automated approaches to project delivery.

The Opportunity

The Building Services Building Information Modelling (BIM) team is at the centre of excellence within Arup for producing exemplary design drawings and 3D models within a BIM environment to exacting standards. This team are undergoing continuing growth and development as it continues to win major work in the industrial, education and commercial sectors.

The BIM team continue to implement and develop our integrated building information modelling service (BIM) delivery to better serve our clients while continuing to drive improvements in our design quality and remain at the cutting edge of the market. If successful you will support the BIM team and Engineers with collaborative production, management, sharing and exchange of all information and data during the delivery phases of building projects.

You will be joining a technical delivery team with a varied and potentially challenging workload. Day to day tasks will include BIM development for information and asset management, data manipulation and visualisation, and automation. You will have the opportunity to use 2D and 3D data developing your core BIM and Modelling Software and,

Is this role right for you?

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes: A bachelor's degree in relevant academic discipline, such as BIM / Building Services, Architecture; Construction Management; Digital Engineering.

Skills and experience interested in:

• General understanding of construction techniques.
• Experience using 3D parametric modelling software.
• Experience in preparation of drawings from 3D models.
• Ability to communicate technical issues to co-professionals, contractors and clients.
• Proven success of working in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work on multiple projects.

Technical skills such as experience of:

• An understanding of how building services are coordinated and installed, general understanding of construction and associated techniques.
• Ability to use Revit, Navisworks, or experience using 3D parametric modelling software.
• Experience preparing drawings from 3D models.

• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
