Job summary

MHB Consultants invites graduates to join a growing design team in civil/structural engineering. You will work with experienced engineers on design, analysis, and reporting, both on-site and off-site, to build independence and technical skills.

Responsibilities include preparing designs, drawings, and proposals, with supervision. You will learn to apply codes (BS, Eurocodes) and contribute to project planning while developing professional competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE-accredited course.
• A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above; commitment to CPD toward Incorporated or Chartered status.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of fee/tender proposals.
• Attend site visits and surveys (under supervision).

As a graduate engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on and off-site to develop skills and independence while working on the design and analysis of engineering projects.

This role will provide opportunities for involvement and skill development in client liaison and project management, encompassing both time and budget management.

Person Specification

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE-accredited course.

A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above Demonstrate commitment to undertake continuous professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status.

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).

Ability to work effectively with the Microsoft suite of programs, such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Knowledge in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software and AutoCAD.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems.

Experience

Internship or project experience in relevant area.
