Job summary

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Behaviour Mentors to join schools across Durham and surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year. This role helps recent graduates apply their psychology or education degrees, gain hands-on experience with children and young people, and make a real difference.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, build positive relationships, help with behaviour and SEMH needs, and work closely with teachers and pastoral teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology or a related field.
• Empathetic, resilient, patient and passionate about supporting children and young people.
• No prior school experience required.
• Willingness to work across Durham and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and confidence.
• Encourage positive choices and independence.
• Assist with SEMH, SEND, ADHD, autism and additional needs.
• Work with teachers and pastoral teams.
• Help pupils engage with learning and school life.
