Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary Community Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities. You will assist qualified Psychologists with assessments, formulations and treatment planning across Somerset, supporting service users to achieve personal goals and improved wellbeing.

You will gather information via assessments and interviews, administer measures, and contribute to risk assessments and structured interventions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Psychology.
• Eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
• Experience with vulnerable adults and learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and systemic approaches beneficial.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist qualified Psychologists in assessment, formulation and treatment planning for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
• Gather information through psychological assessments and clinical interviews; administer psychological measures; assist with risk assessments.
• Contribute to structured psychological interventions and support service users to achieve goals and wellbeing.
• Support audits, research projects, data analysis and quality improvement initiatives; literature reviews.
