Job summary

Ideagen is seeking ambitious graduates for its AI Software Engineer Programme in Ruddington, UK. From day one you’ll code on real products, guided by mentors, and work on AI-powered solutions used worldwide.

This is a hands-on role, not a traditional classroom scheme, with exposure to modern engineering practices and cloud technologies. You will join a 2-year fixed-term programme in a hybrid pattern (3 days per week in the Ruddington office) and earn a salary of £40,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python/Java/C#/JS).
• Understanding of software development fundamentals: testing, debugging, APIs, version control.
• Interest in AI/ML through projects or internships.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to AI and automation capabilities within our products.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs and specialists to solve challenges.
• Participate in learning programmes, bootcamps and innovation projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the development and integration of Artificial Intelligence and automation capabilities within our products.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers and technical specialists to solve complex business challenges.
• Participate in structured learning programmes, technical bootcamps and innovation projects.
• Learn and apply modern engineering practices including testing, security, cloud technologies and software development best practices.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Develop expertise within AI and software engineering while building a strong foundation for long-term career progression.

Skills and Experience

• Graduated within the last two years or due to graduate by September 2027 with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related technical discipline.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript or similar.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, APIs and version control.
• Interest in AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI through academic projects, personal learning, internships, placements or hackathons.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for emerging technologies and their real-world application.
• Ability to adapt, embrace new challenges and thrive in a fast-paced technology environment.
