Ideagen is offering a Graduate AI Software Engineer Programme in the UK, designed for ambitious graduates who want hands-on experience from day one. Based in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, this hybrid role lets you work three days a week in the office and the rest remotely while you build AI-powered software with real-world impact.

Salary is £40,000 with a two-year fixed term contract starting September 2027.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the last two years or due to graduate by Sep 2027 in CS, SE, AI, DS or related field.
• Knowledge of at least one language: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar.
• Understanding of software dev fundamentals: testing, debugging, APIs, version control.
• Interest in AI/ML/Generative AI via projects, internships, or hackathons.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive learning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for emerging tech and real-world applications.
• Able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineers, PMs and specialists to solve business challenges.
• Participate in learning programmes, bootcamps and innovation projects.
• Apply modern engineering practices including testing, security, cloud technologies.
• Support delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues and contribute ideas for improvement.
• Develop expertise in AI and software engineering for long-term progression.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the development and integration of Artificial Intelligence and automation capabilities within our products.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers and technical specialists to solve complex business challenges.
• Participate in structured learning programmes, technical bootcamps and innovation projects.
• Learn and apply modern engineering practices including testing, security, cloud technologies and software development best practices.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, scalable and reliable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Develop expertise within AI and software engineering while building a strong foundation for long-term career progression.

Skills and Experience

• Graduated within the last two years or due to graduate by September 2027 with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related technical discipline.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript or similar.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, APIs and version control.
• Interest in AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI through academic projects, personal learning, internships, placements or hackathons.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Genuine enthusiasm for emerging technologies and their real-world application.
• Ability to adapt, embrace new challenges and thrive in a fast-paced technology environment.
