Job summary

Confidential, a financial services business with about 60 staff, seeks a personable graduate for a 12-month contract as Assistant Accountant. You will work with an experienced finance team on the purchase ledger, processing invoices and statements of work while coordinating supplier queries.

The role includes cash and bank reconciliations, inter-group recharges and assisting in management accounts, budgets and VAT returns. Excel skills and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate in a related field or some accounting experience.
• Confident Excel skills, good communication (oral and written) and strong organisational abilities.
• Enthusiasm and drive to learn and improve current practices within a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchase ledger activities including purchase orders, statements of work and invoice processing.
• Overseeing supplier payment runs and handling supplier enquiries.
• Carrying out cash and bank reconciliations and inter-group recharges.
• Assisting in production of management accounts, budgets and VAT returns.
