  • Commission, verify and validate linear accelerators and associated components.
  • Analyse system performance and provide feedback to research and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and support documentation release through Agile processes.
  • Contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of accelerator technologies.
  • Support product quality assurance activities and root cause investigations.
  • Participate in technical training, demonstrations and knowledge-sharing activities.

We are seeking a talented Graduate Accelerator Scientist to join our Cargo Research Team and help bring innovative technologies from research and development into commercial security screening applications.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a background in Physics or Engineering to work on cutting-edge accelerator technologies. You will play a key role in the commissioning, verification and validation of linear accelerators and associated subsystems while supporting the development of next-generation security screening solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission, verify and validate linear accelerators and associated components.
  • Analyse system performance and provide technical feedback to research and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities and support documentation release through Agile processes.
  • Contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of accelerator technologies.
  • Support product quality assurance activities and root cause investigations.
  • Participate in technical training, demonstrations and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and vector network analysers.
  • Exposure to product development or research environments.
  • Knowledge of high-power RF systems, high-voltage power supplies and beam dynamics.
  • Understanding of safe working practices associated with particle accelerators and related systems.
