Job summary

Step Into Teaching Limited in Newcastle is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to work with students aged 16+ with special educational needs. You will provide classroom support, help create an inclusive learning environment, and assist students in accessing new skills throughout the academic year.

The role runs term-time only, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £500–£530 per week. A completed bachelor’s degree is required, and while experience supporting SEND is an advantage, training

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be working within a highly resourceful college in Newcastleproviding classroom support to students aged 16+ who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The reward aspect of this role is massiveas you’ll be building positive relationships with each student where you’ll see their progress throughout the academic year with your daily support.

Your day-to-day will include ensuring students' needs are met and creating an inclusive and positive environment so everyone can thrive. Not only that your support will ensure students can learn new things and gain valuable life skills that will take them through life.

What We Are Looking For:

• Hold a completed bachelor’s degree
• An empathetic, caring individual with a passion for making learning as accessible and inclusive as possible
• Enthusiastic about learning new things and helping others achieve their goals
• Experience supporting individuals who have SEND (an advantage but not essential)
• Comfortable with providing personal care (this isn’t a core focus of the role and training will be provided)
• Able to build positive relationships with others
