Newcastle City Council is seeking a Grade 5 Highway Maintenance Engineer to deliver schemes that maintain and improve our highway network in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We are looking for an Engineer to deliver projects that maintain and improve our highway network. Our network of roads, footpaths, and cycleways is an essential part of everyone’s lives. It helps people access things like work, learning, essential services, and leisure activities.

We want a passionate and self-motivated person to join our Highway Design and Maintenance team. You will work on a variety of schemes from capital investment projects, where you will be responsible for the design and construction of new highway infrastructure projects, to delivering schemes as part of our highway maintenance programme.
You will work individually, and as part of a team, to manage the delivery of projects. We will expect you to deliver projects professionally, safely, to budget, and on time. Our projects require extensive collaboration, so you will need the ability to interact and communicate effectively with partners, stakeholders, and our residents.
