Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an RTL Design Engineer for the UK GPU Design Centre in London. You will work with architecture, verification and physical design teams to refine micro-architectural specs and implement designs on cutting-edge nodes.

You will review results, diagnose timing/power issues, and ensure robust QoR while collaborating closely with verification and physical teams across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Understanding of implementing modern design techniques.
• Hands on experience with energy-efficient and low-power logic design.
• Strong background in computer architecture including one or more of: high-speed CMOS processor and controller blocks, cache controllers, bus-interface subsystems, integer and floating-point numeric units, digital filters, graphics processors, crossbar fabrics and other high-speed data-path control units.
• Well-versed in logic optimisation, synthesis, timing analysis.
• Fluency with RTL Verilog/VHDL syntax & hardware modelling.
• Familiarity with logic simulation and debug environments as well as formal verification.
• Ability to work well in a team and be productive under tight schedules.
• Excellent communications skills, self-motivated and well-organised.

Responsibilities

• Refine GPU micro-architectural specifications in close collaboration with designers.
• Implement the micro-architecture targeting cutting-edge technology nodes.
• Balance energy efficiency, performance and area with project schedule and maintainability.
• Review synthesis and power reports, root-cause and resolve timing/power issues.
• Work with verification and physical design teams to ensure QoR and optimal layout.
• Simulate and debug designs as they progress toward functional completion.
