Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking a hands-on GPU infrastructure engineer to own and optimize our research compute. You will operate NVIDIA GPU clusters, drive automation, and ensure throughput for AI training across a Linux-based environment.

This role combines building and running the stack—from drivers and CUDA to Slurm scheduling and high-speed networking—while collaborating with researchers and datacenter partners. Remote-friendly with global options.

Qualifications

• Experience running large-scale Linux/GPU environments in production.
• Proficient with NVIDIA stack (drivers, CUDA, NCCL).
• Comfort with bare-metal environments, server hardware, and high-speed networking.
• Automation in Python/Bash, IaC tools like Ansible or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize GPU fleet end to end: provisioning, scheduling, monitoring, upgrades, capacity planning.
• Build automation to keep fleet healthy with minimal manual intervention.
• Own the stack beneath training code: OS images, NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, container runtimes, NCCL, and InfiniBand networking.
• Run and tune job scheduling (Slurm or similar) for fair, fast compute.
• Build and maintain high-performance storage for datasets and checkpoints.
• Identify and fix performance issues: stragglers, degraded links, thermal issues, flaky GPUs.
• Evaluate rented GPU capacity: benchmark, validate, and enforce SLAs.
• Hands-on hardware work: racking, cabling, coordinating with datacenter staff.
• Keep clusters secure by default: access control, network isolation, secrets
