Job summary

Huawei Research and Development UK Limited is seeking an engineer with a strong background in GPU architecture to join a team at the forefront of mobile GPU development in Cambridge.

The role includes developing or defining GPU architecture, micro-architecture, profiling and PPA estimation, and proposing new techniques for hardware implementation. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in GPU architecture and strong shader/programming skills.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in GPU architecture development.
  • Self-motivated, well organized and good team player.
  • Good verbal and writing communication skill, strong coding ability.
  • Hands-on experience with Vulkan, OpenGLES, Metal, DirectX11 or 12 and/or OpenCL.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop new GPU architecture.
  • Modelling, performance analysis and PPA estimation for GPU new features.
  • GPU system features and micro-architecture implementation trade-off.
  • Real-time graphics algorithms or shader program design and optimization to improve performance, save bandwidth and power.
  • Performance/Power Tuning.

Job Summary

The role is for an engineer with a strong background in GPU Architecture to join a team working at the forefront of mobile GPU development.


The successful candidate will work on developing or defining GPU architecture, micro-architecture, profiling and analysing PPA and proposing and developing new techniques both for GPU implementation and potential future implementation in hardware.


You should have a strong understanding of rendering technologies and graphics pipelines. Experience in designing and developing high performance GPU architecture is desired, including architecture modelling, profiling and performance analysis. Experience in system level features trade-off is also important.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and Develop new GPU architecture.

  • Modelling, performance analysis and PPA estimation for GPU new features.

  • GPU system features and micro-architecture implementation trade-off.

  • Real-time graphics algorithms or shader program design and optimization to improve performance, save bandwidth and power.

  • Performance/Power Tuning.
