Job summary

NHS England is recruiting a Training Programme Director (TPD) for Staffordshire / Shropshire to support GP Registrars through the GP Training Programme and help them achieve MRCGP. The role covers preparation, facilitation and delivery of teaching, plus pastoral support for trainees within the GP Training Programme.

The TPD will work with the local programme team, assist trainers, contribute to assessments, and participate in educational innovations with regional partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical education or GP training.
• Familiarity with ARCP processes and GP training milestones.
• Ability to organise and deliver face-to-face and virtual teaching sessions.
• Experience providing pastoral support to trainees.

Responsibilities

• Organise and participate in educational programmes for GP Registrars.
• Support GP Registrars and educators; communicate developments.
• Ensure GP Registrars are assessed and ARCP processes implemented.
• Offer flexible availability for 2 sessions per week.
• Support GP School and trainers with education strategies and workshops.
• Provide pastoral support when trainees face challenges in training or life.
• Collaborate with Foundation Schools, Training Hubs, trusts and medical schools.
• Liaise with Primary Care School Programmes/Assessments/Support Teams and Lead Employer.
