Job summary

Cirencester Health Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join a GP practice team in Cirencester. The role works under the supervision of the pharmacist to ensure safe, timely supply of prescribed medications and to support audits around patient safety.

You will help with medicines-related queries, maintain records, and support the clinical team in improving prescribing quality. Part-time, permanent contract in a supportive, multi-site practice.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C) are required.
• NVQ level 2 in health and social care is required.
• CPPE qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the clinical pharmacist as the point of contact for medicines.
• Process repeat medication requests and convert acute requests to repeats.
• Issue prescriptions in line with clinical protocols and within competency.
• Encourage cost-effective prescribing.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation post discharge and on transfers of care.
• Update patient medication records on practice systems with advice and actions.
• Liaise with secondary and primary care to ensure medicines continuation after transfers.
