Job summary

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust in Creswell and Langwith Medical Centre is seeking a positive, compassionate GP for a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential extension subject to NHS funding and guidance. This opportunity is part of the PCN ARRS funding initiative and requires applicants to be newly qualified and new to practice (within 2 years).

Qualifications

• Must be newly qualified and new to practice (within 2 years).
• International graduates must be GMC registered and on GP Specialist List.
• Sponsorship may not be available under Skilled Worker route.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face and telephone consultations for routine and urgent care.
• Provide clinical care per job plan and practice processes, including triage.
• Handle administrative duties: medical reports, test results, referral letters, and other tasks.
• Cover weekly on-call duties and support the service during absences.
• Fortnightly rotational on extended access service (PCN DES) every Tuesday 18:30–20:00.
• Make clear consultation notes using System One.
• Ensure safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective care per NICE guidelines.
• Independently prescribe medications.
• Review and manage patient medications per policies.
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams for holistic care.
• Participate in MDT meetings and practice audits.
• Attend monthly training events and professional development activities.
• Lead on key areas within the practice as agreed with clinical lead/manager.
• Provide support for trainee registrars.
• Maintain flexibility to meet service needs.
