Ystwyth Medical Group in Aberystwyth is seeking a General Practitioner to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within a close-knit multidisciplinary team.

Applications are welcomed from GPs seeking 4–6 sessions per week with a view to future partnership; candidates with Special Interests or who want to develop will be considered. The practice supports education and professional development within a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified General Practitioner.
• Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
• Included on the NHS Wales Performers List or eligible for inclusion.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to high-quality patient care.
• Interest in medical education and training.
• Experience of EMIS.
• Interest in developing specialist clinical areas.
• Previous experience working within UK General Practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide General Medical Services (GMS) in accordance with the NHS GMS contract.
• Undertake surgery based consultations, telephone consultations and home visits.
• Management of patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with practice and national guidelines.
• Process and action results, clinical correspondence and referrals.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with professional guidelines.
• Participate in weekly practice meetings, clinical governance, audits and quality improvement activities.
• Supervision of medical students and resident doctors where required.
• Work collaboratively as part of our multidisciplinary team.
