Who we’re looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Star Governance team as a Governance Support Officer. You will work closely with key individuals involved in our decision-making process.

We seek someone with exceptional writing skills, the ability to understand and present information clearly, and to manage and prioritize competing demands and deadlines.

Working closely with our senior leadership team, trustees, Star Central staff, schools, governors, and other stakeholders, you will primarily support our trust or school committees by providing efficient governance support and advice that meets statutory and regulatory requirements. This will enable trustees or governors to make effective decisions and scrutinize trust or school operations effectively.

You will have:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in editing documents, with the ability to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, and ensure clear formatting and presentation.
  • The ability to manage your workload effectively.
  • An interest in academy and corporate governance, with an understanding of regulatory requirements.

We are a high-performing multi-academy trust operating over 30 primary and secondary schools. We are a values-driven organization committed to improving the life chances of young people in socially and economically deprived areas, helping them succeed academically, professionally, and personally. Every day offers the opportunity to shape a young person’s future, embodying the qualities needed for success.
