Summary:
We are currently looking for a Regulatory Support Officer to join us at the Regulator of Social Housing.

Working as part of our Regulatory Engagement Directorate, you will support the delivery of effective regulation of landlords as we make sure they are well run and financially viable. Our regulation continues to drive social landlords to deliver improvements in the safety and quality of homes and engage with tenants in the delivery of services.

Job Description:
As the Regulatory Support Officer (RSO), you will lead on the co-ordination and support for delivery of regulatory work. This will span across the different programmes of analysis, engagement and inspections our frontline regulators deliver.

The role also entails carry out review and analysis to capture themes and learning, feeding into continuous improvement of our processes and ways of working. Some aspects of the work may involve engaging with landlords and other stakeholders to support our assurance gathering, follow up on referrals and undertake less complex casework. You will assist in the programming, coordination and delivery of the directorate’s programme of regulatory inspections and responsive work.

The RSO is an integral part of ensuring our regulatory work is delivered in an effective, efficient and timely way that aligns with corporate objectives and values. The role is also intended to provide an opportunity to gain experience, skills and knowledge in how we regulate landlords to deliver our purpose, driving them to improve outcomes to tenants.

Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will have a sound understanding of regulator’s role and have relevant experience in a housing, governance, risk management or other comparable regulatory environment. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, as well as good analytical evaluation skills, with the ability to produce summarised evidenced assurance.

You will be able to work across team boundaries in a collaborative and inclusive way and will have a strong organisation skills, with the ability to support the management of programmes and projects to meet competing deadlines.

Location
We operate a hybrid model of working with a mix of office and home working.

This role can be based out of any of RSH’s core offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our Manchester and Bristol offices will be relocating during 2025/26, however will remain within the city centre. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and staff can benefit from working from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, with some roles also involving onsite visits to social housing providers.

Interviews are expected to take place w/c 7 th and 14 th July and will be held via Microsoft Teams.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.
