Job summary

Our client in Uxbridge is recruiting for a Governance & Risk Manager on a permanent basis, starting immediately. The role is full-time with a salary from £66,000–£70,000.

The position includes hybrid working (3 days on-site) and flexible days, with a 37-hour week from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. The role involves advising the Board and Senior Leaders on governance, embedding risk management, maintaining records and handling DPO responsibilities for UK GDPR compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience within not-for-profit or SME organisations.
• Degree in a relevant subject.
• Governance qualification (CGI/ICSA) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing governance advice to the Board and Senior Leaders to ensure an effective governance framework.
• Embedding practical risk management across the organisation and ensuring teams understand responsibilities.
• Maintaining governance records including conflicts of interest, tenure and decision trails.
• DPO responsibilities: maintain UK GDPR compliance, ROPA and DPIA processes, and privacy inquiries.
• Experience sought in not-for-profit or SME organisations due to team size.

Job description

Our client, based in Uxbridge, is currently recruiting for a Governance & Risk Manager on a permanent basis.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary is from £66,00 - £70,000.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing authoritative and practical governance advice to the Board and Senior Leaders helping them fulfil their mandatory obligations and ensuring an effective governance framework in practice - from decision-making through to delivery - across the whole organisation
• Embedding a clear, practical approach to risk management and mitigation, ensuring every team across our multi-site operation is clear on their responsibilities and takes informed decisions
• Maintaining accurate governance records, including conflicts of interest, tenure, appointments and decision trails
• As the Data Protection Officer, maintain UK GDPR compliance, ROPA and DPIA processes, IT, digital and security policies, serving as the main point of contact for any privacy enquiries
• Experience required within a not for profit or SME type organisation, due to the size of the team already there

Skills & Experience required:

• Experience within not for profit or SME organisations
• Degree in a relevant subject, a recognised governance qualification ("e.g. CGI/ICSA") or
• equivalent relevant experience
