Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager in East Yorkshire on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office / 2 days at home). The role offers around £50,000 salary with a bonus and is a full-time, permanent position.

You will own and strengthen governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, lead ISO-related activity (ideally ISO 9001), and report risks to senior stakeholders while embedding standards into daily operations.

Qualifications

• ISO Lead Auditor experience - ideally ISO 9001

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed governance, risk and compliance frameworks across the organisation
• Lead and support ISO audits and continuous improvement activities
• Identify, assess and manage business risk
• Maintain compliance registers, processes and documentation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure standards are understood and embedded
• Review processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support the development of policies, procedures and management systems

Elevation Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a growing and highly technical organisation to recruit a Governance, Risk & Compliance Manager.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the organisation's approach to governance, risk, compliance and management frameworks, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the business continues to operate to the highest possible standards.

The role

You won't simply be maintaining policies and ticking compliance boxes.

You'll be responsible for challenging, improving and embedding the frameworks that support the wider business - identifying risk, strengthening processes and ensuring compliance remains part of everyday operations.

A key part of the role will be leading and supporting ISO-related activity, with particular value placed on candidates who hold ISO Lead Auditor experience - ideally ISO 9001. Experience across other ISO standards will also be considered.

You’ll also be involved in:

• Managing and developing governance, risk and compliance frameworks


• Leading and supporting ISO audits and continuous improvement activity


• Identifying, assessing and managing business risk


• Maintaining compliance registers, processes and documentation


• Working with stakeholders across the business to ensure standards are understood and embedded


• Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to improve them


• Supporting the development of policies, procedures and management systems


• Producing accurate compliance and risk reporting for senior management


• Using technology and business systems to manage compliance information effectively

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in speaking with people who have:

• ISO Lead Auditor experience - ideally ISO 9001


• Experience working within risk management


• Strong understanding of management frameworks


• Experience working with compliance, quality, governance or integrated management systems


• Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to challenge processes where required


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills


• A proactive, analytical approach to problem solving


• Strong systems capability - you'll need to be comfortable working with business systems and learning new technology quickly

Experience with Microsoft Business Central, compliance systems, CRM platforms or bespoke/in-house systems would be highly advantageous.

You don't need to know every system from day one. The business will provide in-house training - what's important is that you're confident with technology, process-driven and able to pick up new systems quickly.
