This pivotal role includes providing high-quality support to senior management, managing committee meetings, and ensuring compliance with governing documents. The ideal candidate has experience in governance frameworks in the educational or public sectors, along with strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with governance frameworks across the charitable, higher/further education, or public sectors.
  • Solid background in providing committee support in one or more of these areas.

  • Clerk to governor and other key committee meetings, manage agenda preparation, meeting arrangements, minute-taking, and undertake follow-up actions when necessary.
  • Provide high-quality support to the University Secretary and Deputy University Secretary, and manage the Corporate Governance Team.
  • Assist the University Secretary in their duties as Clerk to the Governing Body.
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior managers and governors, offering clear interpretations of the University's governing documents, standing orders, and terms of reference.
  • Draft clear and accurate reports, minutes, and agendas, drawing on excellent communication skills.
  • Engage confidently and professionally with senior management and trustees.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, a proactive approach to work, and a collaborative mindset.

Overview
