Job summary

Todd Hayes Ltd is seeking a Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant for its Eye, Suffolk site. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00, and involves unloading and inspecting delivered goods, checking quantities and quality, and supporting stock movements and ERP entries.

Based in Eye, you will work with the operations team to ensure accurate receiving, packing and shipping for subcontract operations, while maintaining safety and tidy areas. Equal opportunities employer.

Qualifications

• Experience in Goods Inwards/Warehouse or Yard environment.
• Forklift licence is required.
• GCSE level or a similar vocational qualification.
• Proficient with MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and TEAMS.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Unload delivered goods using Forklift Truck or manual handling equipment.
• Check quantity, description and quality against delivery note and PO.
• Assist packing/shipping of parts for sub-contract operations with the operations team.
• Prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Move stock around yard and manufacturing buildings.
• Inspect goods delivered against drawings/specs/PO documentation.
• Reject non-conforming goods in ERP and label accordingly.
• Transfer stock between locations in Epicor.
• Assist in perpetual inventory counts and real-time receipts in ERP.
• Support stock control for consignment or Vendor Managed inventory.
• Report any health and safety concerns to Procurement Manager or Goods Inwards Controller.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Keep Goods Inwards areas tidy and safe.
• Participate in business improvement projects.

Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant

Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Eye, Suffolk, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Proven work experience gained within a Goods Inwards/Warehouse or Yard environment.
• A valid Forklift truck licence.
• Educated to GCSE level or a similar vocational qualification.
• Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Working to the Purchasing, Goods Inward and other company Procedures.
• Off-loading delivered goods with the use of a Forklift Truck and/or other manual handling equipment as necessary.
• Performing initial checks to ensure the quantity, description and quality of the delivery match the delivery note and purchase order.
• Assist in the packing and shipping of parts for sub-contract operations in co-ordination with other members of the operations team.
• Prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Assisting in movements of stock around the yard and Manufacturing buildings.
• Assisting in Inspecting goods delivered using drawings, purchase order descriptions, specifications and supplementary documentation.
• Assisting in rejecting non-conforming goods within the ERP system and ensuring that they are isolated from general use and suitably labelled.
• Transferring stock between locations on Epicor as required.
• Assist in perpetual inventory counts.
• Receipting the delivery into the ERP system in real time as required.
• Supporting control of consignment stocks/Vendor Managed inventory.
• Ensuring any health and safety concerns are reported to the Procurement Manager and/or Goods Inwards Controller immediately.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Keeping the Goods Inwards working areas tidy and safe at all times.
• Involvement in business improvement projects where necessary.
• To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
