Job summary

Todd Hayes Limited in Eye, Suffolk, is seeking a Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant to join their operations team. The role involves unloading deliveries with forklift, checking quantities and quality against purchase orders, and supporting packing and sub-contractor operations.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00, in a busy warehouse environment, using ERP (Epicor) to receipts, manage stock movements, and assist in inventory counts while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Goods Inwards/Warehouse or Yard.
• Valid Forklift truck license.
• GCSE level or equivalent qualification.
• Computer skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work to Purchasing, Goods Inward and other company procedures.
• Off-load deliveries using Forklift Truck and/or manual handling equipment.
• Check quantity, description and quality against delivery notes and PO.
• Assist in packing and shipping parts for sub-contract operations.
• Prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Move stock around yard and Manufacturing buildings.
• Inspect goods delivered using drawings, PO descriptions and specs.
• Reject non-conforming goods in ERP and label accordingly.
• Transfer stock between locations in Epicor.
• Assist perpetual inventory counts.
• Receipt deliveries into ERP in real time.
• Support consignment/vendor managed inventory control.
• Report health and safety issues to Procurement Manager/Goods Inwards Controller.
• Provide excellent customer service and keep areas tidy and safe.
• Participate in business improvement projects and other duties as requested.

Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant

Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant

to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Eye, Suffolk, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• Proven work experience gained within a Goods Inwards/Warehouse or Yard environment.
• A valid Forklift truck licence.
• Educated to GCSE level or a similar vocational qualification.
• Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Working to the Purchasing, Goods Inward and other company Procedures.
• Off-loading delivered goods with the use of a Forklift Truck and/or other manual handling equipment as necessary.
• Performing initial checks to ensure the quantity, description and quality of the delivery match the delivery note and purchase order.
• Assist in the packing and shipping of parts for sub-contract operations in co-ordination with other members of the operations team.
• Prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Assisting in movements of stock around the yard and Manufacturing buildings.
• Assisting in Inspecting goods delivered using drawings, purchase order descriptions, specifications and supplementary documentation.
• Assisting in rejecting non-conforming goods within the ERP system and ensuring that they are isolated from general use and suitably labelled.
• Transferring stock between locations on Epicor as required.
• Assist in perpetual inventory counts.
• Receipting the delivery into the ERP system in real time as required.
• Supporting control of consignment stocks/Vendor Managed inventory.
• Ensuring any health and safety concerns are reported to the Procurement Manager and/or Goods Inwards Controller immediately.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Keeping the Goods Inwards working areas tidy and safe at all times.
• Involvement in business improvement projects where necessary.
• To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
