Job summary

Sterling Pharma Solutions is seeking an Analytical Chemist based at our Cramlington site in Northumberland to perform analyses of substances and materials in line with cGMP, maintain records, prepare samples, and collaborate with stakeholders.

You will support method development, transfer, calibration of equipment, deviation investigation, and contribute to quality and compliance programs while upholding our Be Transparent, Be Willing, Be Reliable and Be Caring ethos.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in Chemistry or other relevant scientific discipline.
• Previous laboratory experience is essential, ideally in a GMP environment.
• Experience and knowledge of HPLC and GC techniques is essential.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible and able to manage changing priorities.
• Previous experience with Chromatography Data Systems is essential, preferably Chromeleon.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and reporting results in accordance with cGMP requirements.
• Optimise analytical methods and implement testing procedures to support transfer of new processes into production.
• Investigate analytical deviations and out of specification results with rigorous root cause analysis.
• Organise calibration and maintenance of analytical laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine auditing of laboratory areas.
• Carry out SAP transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform technical transfers between internal and external customers.
• Support method validation and cGMP stability programs.
• Characterise reference materials for use in cGMP analysis.
• Develop, evaluate, and prepare analytical methods and SOPs as required.
• Liaise with manufacturing, technical, and operational quality personnel on compliance and analytical atypicality.
