Job summary

Checkatrade invites a General Manager, AI Services to build a new revenue stream from the ground up. You will own the P&L, define the AI strategy, and collaborate with the CEO and Board to convert AI capabilities into commercial value for homeowners and tradespeople.

You will lead cross-functional teams across product, engineering, data science and commercial, while partnering with COO/CTO to deliver a practical AI roadmap and ensure responsible deployment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of building/scaling new product lines or business units in consumer tech or marketplaces.
• Experience commercialising AI or data products from concept to revenue.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate AI into real customer value.
• Outstanding communication skills capable of engaging Board-level and ground teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the AI Services strategy and roadmap with a clear path to revenue and profitability.
• Own pricing, unit economics and P&L end-to-end.
• Identify and prioritise AI-driven revenue opportunities across consumer and trade audiences.
• Partner with COO/CTO to shape the AI product roadmap and deliver customer value.
• Stay ahead of AI developments (LLMs, agentic systems, computer vision) and apply practically.
• Recruit and lead a cross-functional team across product, engineering, data science and commercial.
