Job summary

Ultrapharm bakery in Pontypool, part of the Finsbury Food Group, is hiring a Hygiene Operator. You will keep production areas and machinery clean, and support safe, compliant production.

The role requires hands-on cleaning, attention to detail and commitment to high food-safety standards; full training will be provided. Prior industrial cleaning or food-manufacturing experience is desirable, with a proactive team attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial cleaning, hygiene or food production is useful, but full training will be provided.
• Physically fit for a hands-on cleaning role.
• Keen eye for detail and high hygiene standards.
• Able to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow COSHH procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production machinery, equipment and manufacturing areas to required food safety and hygiene standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment (jet washers, foaming systems) and handle cleaning chemicals per COSHH.
• Follow Hygiene SOPs, CIC Cards and schedules; complete tasks within timescales for safe production.
• Dismantle/reassemble equipment to access areas and perform pre-operational checks; report issues.
• Maintain hygiene records and support audits and site housekeeping.
