Job summary

QinetiQ Target Systems is seeking a UAV Global Operations Technician to join the Field Services Team in Ashford. You will build, test and maintain unmanned aerial target systems, travel internationally, and support defence forces globally.

The role requires experience in deployable environments, a full UK driving licence, and readiness to obtain SC clearance. Competitive salary and extensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in field deployment environments and ability to work under pressure.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to travel internationally on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, repair, and disassemble aerial and surface targets per manuals and schedules.
• Handle repairs including line-replaceable units, fibreglass work, and engine tuning.
• Diagnose faults in targets, launchers, and ground equipment.
• Refuel targets and prepare payloads for deployment.
• Assist with launcher operation and target retrieval post-flight.
• Maintain ground support equipment and participate in training others.
