Job summary

LJ Recruitment in Suffolk is seeking a Controls & Design Engineer to work across design, control systems, product development and continuous improvement. You will contribute to a broad range of engineering activities and travel to visit customers and exhibitions.

Responsibilities include producing CAD drawings, schematics and BOMs, developing and testing control systems, validating new products, and creating technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Product Design is preferred.
• CAD experience, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience with electrical and diesel control systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Codesys and scripting is highly advantageous.
• Experience with rotating machinery, steel fabrication or control systems.
• Strong self-motivation, inquisitiveness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Producing CAD drawings, schematics and Bills of Materials.
• New product development, testing and validation.
• Developing and testing control systems.
• Continuous improvement of existing products.
• Producing technical documentation, manuals and work instructions.
• Engineering administration, including BOMs and part number creation.
• Providing application support to customers and colleagues.
• Researching new technologies and engineering solutions.
