Job summary

LJ Recruitment Limited seeks a Controls & Design Engineer to contribute across design, control systems, product development and continuous improvement within a UK engineering team. This role involves varied projects and opportunities to travel to visit customers and exhibitions.

Qualifications

• Ideally holds a degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Product Design.
• Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Codesys and scripting is highly advantageous.
• Experience with electrical and diesel control systems and rotating machinery.

Responsibilities

• Producing CAD drawings, schematics and Bills of Materials.
• New product development, testing and validation.
• Developing and testing control systems.
• Continuous improvement of existing products.
• Producing technical documentation, manuals and work instructions.
• Engineering administration, including BOMs and part-number creation.
• Providing application support to customers and colleagues.
• Researching new technologies and engineering solutions.
