Job summary

Orion Electrotech, Buckinghamshire, is seeking an experienced International Trade Compliance Manager to lead its international trade compliance function. You will balance regulatory requirements with business objectives in a fast-paced, technical aerospace/defence environment.

The role covers UK export licensing, OGEL administration, ITAR/EAR compliance, audits, and training, with hybrid working and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in defence, aerospace or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK export licensing and OGEL administration.
• Understanding of UK Strategic Export Controls and licensing.
• Experience with US ITAR and EAR regulations.
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and reviews.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially aware approach to compliance and risk management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Manage UK export licensing and OGEL compliance, renewals, and records.
• Advise on UK export controls and US ITAR/EAR requirements.
• Classify products and tech under applicable regs.
• Conduct supplier, customer, and end-user screening.
• Develop and maintain trade compliance policies and controls.
• Support HMRC, ECJU audits and inspections.
• Deliver trade compliance training across the organisation.
• Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams from bid to delivery.
• Act as primary contact for trade compliance with regulators.
