Job summary

Astellas is seeking a Study Start-up Lead in Addlestone, UK for a permanent, hybrid role with quarterly office presence. The role oversees start-up staff across global trials, drives onboarding and development, and ensures delivery of start-up activities to high standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive study start-up leadership experience, strong ICH/GCP knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across Clinical Operations and regional partners. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Seasoned experience executing global drug development programs and trials.
• Proven experience in study start-up activities with direct people management.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver portfolio objectives.
• Strong knowledge of ICH/ GCP guidelines and multinational clinical trial regulations.
• Experience across multiple development phases and therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee resource planning, recruitment, mentoring, development and retention of study start-up staff.
• Direct and allocate study start-up resources to trials and monitor performance of up to 12 direct reports.
• Provide leadership and learning opportunities to enhance staff development.
• Ensure on-time, high-quality completion of start-up activities.
• Maintain compliance with training requirements and identify ongoing training needs.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Operations Leads and Clinical Operations Leads to standardize processes across programs.
• Identify and drive process improvements for study start-up activities.
• Develop and implement best-in-class study start-up standards and tools.
