Job summary

CMC Markets in London is seeking an experienced Trading Application Support Analyst for a 12‑month FTC. You’ll join the IT Production team, providing hands‑on 1st/2nd line support for trading platforms across web, mobile and API channels.

You’ll operate in a truly global, follow‑the‑sun environment, monitoring systems with Nagios/Splunk/AppDynamics/Geneos, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams to keep platforms stable and high‑performing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an IT or application support environment.
• 2+ years of experience working with Red Hat Linux (or other Unix variants), including scripting.
• 2+ years’ experience supporting applications such as Java, .NET, Apache or IIS.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line application support for CMC Markets’ trading platforms.
• Ensure maximum availability and performance with a follow‑the‑sun model.
• Monitor live systems using monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, AppDynamics, Geneos).
• Respond to alerts and incidents across production and non‑production environments.
• Diagnose issues, implement fixes, and escalate to development teams when required.
• Collaborate with global teams across Development, Infrastructure, DBA, Security and third‑party vendors.
• Support releases, deployments and change activities per defined processes.
• Contribute to improvements in monitoring, automation, documentation and support processes.
• Participate in DR and BCP testing and rotational weekend on‑call shift.
