Markel International seeks a senior International Procurement Lead to shape indirect spend strategies over £80M. You will partner with leaders across Legal, Finance, IT, and suppliers to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while aligning with Markel’s objectives.

You’ll negotiate complex agreements, manage strategic supplier relationships, and guide governance to deliver value and operational improvements globally.

Qualifications

• Experience in international procurement and regulatory knowledge.
• Proven ability to lead technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, licensing).
• Strong expertise in supplier management and contract governance.
• Analytical thinker with strategic category management skills.
• Proficient with AI-enabled procurement tools and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Lead complex strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Develop and drive category strategies with INTL leadership.
• Identify vendor needs to deliver value and reduce risk.
• Lead quarterly and annual strategic supplier reviews.
• Manage indirect spend with stakeholder-aligned processes.
• Oversee lifecycle of strategic suppliers: evaluation to governance.
• Implement metrics to track supplier relationships and pricing.
• Conduct market research and benchmarking for decisions.
• Assess supplier risks and perform due diligence.
• Ensure contractual commitments and performance alignment.
• Collaborate to address operational, financial, security, and regulatory risks.
• Develop business cases balancing cost, value, and risk.
