Markel Corporation in London seeks a Senior International Procurement Lead to drive indirect spend strategies and supplier relationships across multiple business units. You will partner with Legal, Finance, IT and external suppliers to align procurement activities with organizational goals and risk management.

The role requires expertise in technology sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance, with a strong track record in cost optimization and strategic sourcing leadership.

Qualifications

• International procurement experience including regulatory knowledge
• Negotiating and leading technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, professional services, SOWs)
• Proficiency with AI-enabled tools for procurement efficiency and reporting
• Strong project management skills for complex sourcing programs
• Extensive knowledge of contracts, finance, and supplier management

Responsibilities

• Lead complex strategic sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Develop and drive indirect spend category strategies with INTL leadership.
• Identify business and vendor needs to deliver cost-saving strategies, reduce risk.
• Lead quarterly and annual strategic supplier reviews.
• Manage lifecycle of strategic suppliers including evaluation and governance.
• Define metrics for supplier relationships and ensure value and pricing.
• Conduct market research, supplier assessments, and benchmarking for decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address operational, financial, security and regulatory risks.
• Develop business cases balancing cost, value, and risk.
